Content Spec

Video:

  • HAP family codecs
    • This is an open source codec that can be downloaded for Mac or PC.  Please use the most recent release (v12).
    • You will download a package that will guide you through a quick & easy installation process.
    • Once installed you will find HAP available as a codec option in your encoder of choice.
    • You can read more about HAP here
  • For video not requiring transparency please use the HAP Q codec.  This is a higher bitrate and higher quality codec and produces very large files.
  • For video requiring transparency use HAP Alpha codec.  PLEASE NOTE: HAP Q Alpha is not compatible with the show playback system.  HAP Alpha ONLY please.
  • 29.97 fps, progressive scan, and square pixels.
  • No audio playback off video files, audio must be delivered separately.
  • Please disable template masks for renders.

Still Images:

  • 1 Frame .mov files are preferred to still images.  HAP Q for flat images and HAP Alpha for images with transparency.
  • No larger than 4000 × 4000.
  • PNG for all other stills.  Please be aware of your alpha channel and deliver on an opaque background if transparency is not desired.

Timecode:

  • Please advise our team if you plan to chase timecode with your video file
  • Please supply Preview comp from AE Template or other source with stereo audio for sync reference

Previz:

  • Still image web-based 3D previz is available upon request- contact Jared for details.
  • For previz with video/audio please use Element 3D.  There is a 3D template baked into the After Effects template project.  Please note Element 3D will require licensing on your specific machine.

File Delivery:

  • Hard Drive, Mac or PC formatted USB 3.0 or Thunderbolt, bus powered.
  • We cannot accept drives with Firewire or anything slower than USB 3.0.
  • File Delivery over FTP requiring internet access is not always possible.  Please check with Jared first or plan to have your files ready for overnight delivery.
